Here is something interesting a DIY Desktop CNC machine on kickstarter that the person hopes will only cost $400 be it can very in price depending on if you want the full kit of just the plans. Hmm this is something to think on. A line of machines that do other fabrication work other than plastic printing.(I know about some of the other variants like laser cutting and such but how many are tby Jayson - General
Some more ideas if you have not already decided. 1: Figure out adding a microcontroller and memory to the reprap so it can print without been constantly attached to a computer. 2: Design a multi filament extruder to extrude seamlessly different filaments. (Different colours or types) 3: Design a extruder to extrude wax for model printing(cover the wax in silicone then when set melt wax out) 4by Jayson - General

After reading a lot about reprap and the different printers out there i noticed that a lot of the community uses common terms that are unknown to people new to these systems, terms like a stepper, hot end, heated bed, cupcake, PLA, ABS, extruder these terms can be very confusing to those unused to them.
