On a side note is there any benefit to use 5V over 3.3V for the probe?by singhm29 - General
Hey Jens53, thanks for the feedback. I actually realized my custom Jerk values were not being used as I forgot to enable that code block Z values now -My Z jerk is now 0.2 so I will try that in an upcoming test -Accel has been 500mm/sec Ideally the situation would be when Z starts to probe its not a sudden jerky movement and then its able to reach a higher speed as needed for the probe to triby singhm29 - General
Bit of an odd situation here. Getting setup on Marlin and it seems I am getting a ton of false triggering when my Z axis first starts moving..having several Piezos I figured ah thats alright I will turn the sensitivity down a bit so its not doing that. However, while that solves the issue of not triggering from Z-axis movement it then requires the probe to dig into my bed quite a bit before triggby singhm29 - General
What are peoples thoughts on those removable pressure sensors that seem to be coming up more regularly on Delta printers? The monoprice delta pro for example has one of these which is basically an attachment you place on your nozzle and then attach to a two wire connection. I dont like this as it takes away from automated printing as its not on permanently but it would be very nice to use this saby singhm29 - General
QuoteSupraGuy Had to laugh today. Several months ago, I bought a PP generic kit with 3 undrilled 20mm piezo discs. It arrived, and I put it to use, but for various reasons, I decided that I wanted to go with something that had more sensor locations, and I ordered more from a third party. As time went on, Moriquendi stepped in and resolved my problem with the development of the Andromeda productby singhm29 - General
QuoteIf I'm honest I don't think that the Orion is the cause of the problem but to eliminate it as a possibility I'm happy to send you a replacement. I might be mis-remembering the over travel thing. Are you using the zprobe.dwell_before_probing option? Can you PM me your order number please? Idris Hey, I havent heard back regarding this and unfortunately am still having issues. What is the bby singhm29 - General
Yes I am utilizing dwell_before_probing as I was getting false positives after movements without it.by singhm29 - General
I feel bad having you send a replacement but if you dont think there is much of anything else to try on the software side that would really be appreciated. Just had another print act up after 2 or 3 that worked perfectly fine. I searched for over travel I dont see anything about that.by singhm29 - General
QuoteAre you sure we can eliminate other factors? Filament diameter? Extruder variation? Temp nozzle/ambient temp variation? Filament diameter unlikely as its from the same supplier and on a roll I have preivously used without issue (however obviously could still be some variation) Extruder variation: no changes have been made to the extruder in terms of fan positioning, nozzle changes or anythinby singhm29 - General
I use an unheated bed so we can factor that out. The printer is a cartesian type where the bed moves downwards as the print progresses. I print in an enclosure so temp swings shouldnt be too major between prints. Lets assume ambient temperature may be causing the change, do you think cutting power to the system and rerunning might help?by singhm29 - General
Hey guys, First off I just want to say my orion module, once I figured out some kinks, has been great for the last 2 months. However im hoping someone can help me figure out this scenario So the most recent incident was this Opened a profile with a Z offset that had been used for the last 2 months that I knew had a perfect first layer -Printed a new object in black came out extremely overstufby singhm29 - General
Anyone using an orion with a Prusa MK2S? Really hate PEI and prefer glass, bit backwards to take away the built in autobed leveling but would like to streamline my use of glass with itby singhm29 - General
QuoteMoriquendi There's no advantage to pausing unless you are probing in Z, smoothieware doesn't react to triggers unless it is probing. Furthermore, unless you implement a delay within the G32 probing cycle you're still going to be probing with vibrations for all probe events except the first one. You need to include; zprobe.dwell_before_probing 0.5 into your config file, this means that smooby singhm29 - General
Hey all, Ive had my orion running for a week or two and im finding that im not getting the repeatability I had hoped for. I am running on smoothieware and running a 5x5 leveling grid at the start of each print. However I will for the exact same print have a perfect first layer and then a rerun coming out too thin. I do like ValSimDims review of the orion and like that others are getting it workiby singhm29 - General
The part im a bit confused about is setting the Z height, does that need to be done sepereately from the probing sequence? Im going to try your method of saving and loading right after but I was under the impression that if im running G32 in my startup gcode there is no need to save and reload the probed grid its already being used directly after G32? Im also unsure if I need the G90 command in tby singhm29 - General
Hey everyone, Recently received my orion kit and quite happy with the possibilities of it. So far I have it working only as a endstop as when I tried having it set the Z height and autocompensate it was not better then my manual bed leveling. Im almost certain I am doing something wrong with my startup gcode. Im using smoothieware with a cartesian printer and would really appreciate if someoneby singhm29 - General
