My rostock has hit a snag... The modified marlin firmware doesn't seem to want to work correctly on a Sanguinololu 1.3a In particular the temperature reads 200C when it only 20C. Normal Marlin and Sprinter both read 20C... Im suspecting something weird like a variable overflow... as the tempurature reading code is the same.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group

from 3/8"-12 leadscrews, 304mm long. Z steps per mm is 1511.81102362205 with 1/16" microstepping and 1.8 degree/step motors. One end is machined to 8mm, the other to 6.35mm (1/4") so it is compatible with most couplers used in the RepRap community.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group

10mm is current standard for Z smooth rod on a mendelmax As for better? In theory yes, less likely to bend or warp. In reality it not like we building a milling machine. Its a little over engineered, but thats not necessarily a bad thing.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi Senglish Everyone does that, Printing before they can walk as it where I'm guessing you mean the you belt-clamp-nut-holders. They are just to hold the Nuts in place under the belt clamps on the lower platform (if your using a lower platform). They aren't required.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Original v1 Mendelmax had 36 tooth GT2 pulleys on both X and Y axis. The X ones where fractionally to large for the space they are in on a standard Prusa I2 motor X end. Mendelmax now comes with 20 tooth pulleys, much smaller diameter (picture is not accurate) they really look like the one in the front of this [4.bp.blogspot.com] (this is my MM before it got converted to a 1.5 model with thby Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group

Im using standard Prusa X ends, as my Z screw nuts are the same size as m8 nuts. I did have to file them down a little to get the 36 tooth pulleys to fitby Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group

>I had to rewire sensors and now everything is working fine - almost. >Home position for X axis in in left side but I have sensor at right side. >Where I can change this in firmware? (I really don't want to change sensor position.) You cant just change X or Y on their own like that. If you do you will invert you prints (writing will come out backwards as will parts in general.) If someone would volunteer to do a talk on 3d printer that would be good. There will be rocket club people there that need converting Other than that anyone want to plan anything? bring anything? say anything?by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Im still using round rods. But from what I hear the slides are better. From talking with the mendelmax guys online the slides are being made for them in bulk. Ie dificult if not impossable to get elsewhere in 1 offs. They are made by "PBC Linear"by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Tentative date: 10 September, pm sometime Where: Canterbury University, room to come.. Officially this is a rocket club event. And a once off.. But its a start.. There will be more information later See you there.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Mitre10 have just changed suppliers (at least the local one) They have switched to blacks fasteners. You might need to find an obscure store that still has old stock.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Miter 10 has nice long m3 bolts and Bunnings had suitable springs (two long, but they cut fine) At least in Christchurch.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
You can use half height m5 nuts (from what ive been told) I haven't verified this But the t-slot nuts are really nice, I would image normal nuts would be quite tricky to hold in place and tighten...by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Lenbok, There is two a guys making two mendel 90 in Christchurch. Ive seen the mechanical assembly, but I don't know if they got any further My personal opinion is its good, well finished up. Most printers arent really printers they are shells. With no thought to wiring at all. I don't however like all the wood. But thats a personal thing, I don't like wood.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
You cant get t-slot of this size in Nz cheaply.. Ive tried... and documented... on my blog... At the time I got mine via a friend in the USA and paid two lots of shipping. (this was before store.mendelmax.com, and no one had any on ebay) was about $191.70 Nz landed (wasnt coloured) See and $208nz for black t-slot seems a good deal to me.
