Hello fellow tinkerers, I suddenly got this idea this morning and found it interesting and thought I'd share it to get some feedback on whether I should dwell on it or discard it altogether. The idea relates to the extrusion mechanism on "regular" Prusa-style printers using geared extruders on the Y-carriage. Usually this causes oscillations in the entire printer upon sudden movements and resuby Shafiqson - Mechanics
What if one was able to use the same hot end for different extrusion widths, ie ranging from for instance 0.25mm up to 1mm or even greater? This could increase the versatility of the hot end, so that one could make sturdy blocks or objects which could take som beating without giving in (1mm orifice), and use the same hot end to make objects where a higher degree of detail may be needed (0.25mm orby Shafiqson - Mechanics
Yeah, that's what I figured. The meter showed infinite resistance, which means that it was faulty by default or that I managed to damage it somehow. Which seems plausible, might have broken it when I was drilling a hole for the thermistor in the heater block (with the resistor inside being the dumbass that I am lol). Hello everyone. I have a problem with my nearly finished build of Prusa w/ Sanguinololu. The hot-end resistor doesn't heat up! I'm getting 12V across the resistor, but no heat when I set the extruder temperature in Pronterface. The thermistor is checked, shows correct temperature. Please help!by Shafiqson - Sanguino(lolu)
