Glad to help, thanks for sharing your result. Happy printing!by Tris - Delta Machines
No. The print, along with the bed, will be flexing up and down with the temperature fluctuations for the duration of the print (unless the temperature stabilises.)by Tris - Delta Machines
Hi mrg78, I had the same horizontal banding problem when I built a 1 metre tall Mini Kossel derivative with Onyx heated bed. The problem was indeed caused by temperature oscillation of the heated bed while under bang-bang control. Enabling and tuning PID for the heated bed solved the problem completely in my case.by Tris - Delta Machines
All you really need to know is that when the effector is accelerated or decellerated in a particular direction, the frame will want to move in the opposite direction (albeit less as the mass of the frame is much greater than that of the effector!) If the vertical extrusions are not rigid enough, they absorb the forces exerted by the effector by bending, causing momentarily inaccurate effector plby Tris - Delta Machines
Quoterogueqd It's a nice use of the space. Do you think the mass of the filament spool helps prevent the wobble, or makes it worse? It seems to me that twisting is where the frame is weakest. Do you think little struts from the top bar of the bottom section, near where the motor mounts meet the frame, would hold the uprights stiffer and stop it wobbling? I guess you could even make large trianglby Tris - Delta Machines
Quoterogueqd Thanks Tristan. I like the way you've mounted the filament reel at the top did you design that yourself? After more research I'm wondering if an XL is the way to go. The creator of the Griffin printer said Kossels dont have enough rigidity and can wobble a bit at larger sizes meaning you have to print slower to maintain accuracy. Ardon from builda3dprinter.eu also mentioned they coby Tris - Delta Machines
Quoterogueqd I'm looking at buying a Kossel as my first printer. I'd already decided not to buy from MakerGeeks afrer seeing the youtube video. I found this site that looks good (looks dont count for much) and my emails have been responded to quickly and helpfully. Does anyone have any experience with them? Any other comments would be helpful too. I have some previous Arduino and multicopteby Tris - Delta Machines
Awesome, problem solved. I set mine to: #ifndef ENCODER_STEPS_PER_MENU_ITEM #define ENCODER_STEPS_PER_MENU_ITEM 1 #endif #ifndef ENCODER_PULSES_PER_STEP #define ENCODER_PULSES_PER_STEP 2 #endif Thanks very much indeed Hazer!by Tris - RAMPS Electronics
Here's a video I made of the phenomenon...by Tris - RAMPS Electronics
Hi All! I'm just starting out in the world of RepRap and I'm building my first printer (Mini Kossel) and I'd like to ask for some help with the electronics please! I've set the electronics up, a Taurino Classic + RAMPS 1.4 with Smart Controller from RRD, but I think there might be a problem with the controller. I have already made the appropriate changes to the Marlin firmware. When selectingby Tris - RAMPS Electronics
