Dear Admins, not sure if this is the correct or appropriate place for this but i am follwing advice provided to me. My apologies for having to waste your time on this but can someone delete a couple of the posts on this thread The posts I refer to are posted by Repper and sourcy. Please note I have good reason to believe that Sourcy and repper are the same person, He has behaved like this onby Mutley3D - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Hi Zedsquared, unfortunately it is very tough material and scissors wont cut it. Scoring is also tough enough in a straight line, with long steel angle, workbench clamps etc, so doing it in a circle will be even harder. I am also aware of the significant potential injury risk for people attempting to do this themselves. I do however have a largish table homebrew CNC that I have cut circular piecby Mutley3D - General
DC42 + Phytone - Samples in the post, should be with you tomorrow gmh39 - yes the parts will reliable swipe off, probably you will need something like a miniature wiper blade, ie with the rubber or silcone bladeby Mutley3D - General
Have you notified aliexpress? I nearly nearly, oh so nearly went for this myself. What happens if you dont accept the refund? Perhaps all those that got "stung" by this needs to voice their situation here, and Aliexpress needs to be notified of this thread, and also warned that this will damage any custom that comes through this community. Probably not much in the scheme of things to them, butby Mutley3D - General
OK so theres a useful print surface ive been testing over the past year, you can find out more about it here My question is, would there be a need or demand for it? If so ill get some more in! It adheres all common materials without use of substrates glues lotions or potions, and you wont need a pointy hat to get the parts to self release eitherby Mutley3D - General
Quotesungod3k That 2nd one is pretty indeed. I found the dupli stuff on german amazon as well. Ill give it a try. The paste filler method is definitely doable it would just be awesome to have a more universally applicable method. I also saw on a recent maker faire a guy who used a tumble sander with wallnut shells in it. Not useful for fine detail but his superhero figurines came our looking nicby Mutley3D - General
Hello Kaptain Bisquick Ive sent you an email, but just to clarify in short. The E3D v6 is known to be problematic for some users due to clogging. Particularly with PLA. I do not know if this is due to user setups, hotend design or quality, or combination of all three. What is known to occur however is that heat travels up the hotend heatbreak and further up along the filament. This softens theby Mutley3D - General
Hello Mechabits, A bowden arrangement is compromised by its fundamental approach, however it is a workaround to a problem of removing mass from a print head. It comes with penalties. It was the only offered solution available to the original problem being resolved. As for weaknesses, you have already mentioned a couple of the key points in your earlier post. Bowdens work ok, but can be difficultby Mutley3D - General
QuoteMechaBits Whats the difference with the flex drive, and the other method of pushing the filament down the ptfe tube(bowden/wade?), doesnt the spinning flexishaft create forces that you dont want, effecting print? The difference is a light weight "direct drive" extruder. The spinning shaft does not create a torque on the end effector. This is accomplished within the design.by Mutley3D - General
Quotetmorris9 If you are in the U.S. there is a product called "Dupli-Color Filler Primer" that I use a lot. It will fill in about 70% of the print lines. If you want to go further than that I suggest you coat the part with spot putty and sand it first then use the filler primer. Both of these are available from automotive parts stores. Or apply a couple of coats?by Mutley3D - General
QuoteSleepyPrince I am interested in incorperating the Flexidrive into my next Kossel. However, I am planning to use balls and magnets for the arms (and end effector) and probably using a E3D or Pico Hot-end. I am a bit confused on what is included in Flexidrive package and what I will need to design / purchase if the included parts don't fit my needs. Hi SleepyPrince Take a look at this linkby Mutley3D - General
Filler Primer - ask at any automotive store or use those words as the search term on ebay.by Mutley3D - General
people get real, shit in == shit out. dumb questions == dumb answers I know that sounds a bit harsh, its not meant to be, but the truth is....by Mutley3D - General
100mms retract speed sounds rediculously fast, it is probably not even completing a retraction, just stalling the motor in both directions, especially if you are using marlin defaults for feeds accels and jerk settings.by Mutley3D - General
As elmo says above, only make small changes to temp to get on the money, also reduce those esteps a bit, otherwise run a thin wall test cube print and measure its thickness to dial in esteps that last bit. but they defintely need to go downward rather than up. You might also want to look at increasing your minimum layer time, but i dont find that helps a lot in some situations as you still end upby Mutley3D - General
Quotedc42I understand that Stratasys has a patent on auto lift nozzles, which is likely to make it difficult for anyone without a good patent lawyer to sell them. Probably not that difficult. Just sell the parts required for a design as a "kit", or read the patent and find a workaround/loophole. Patents are often a game of words, and expensive game at that!by Mutley3D - General
Using extrusion multiplier in my view is not good advice, in the first instance you want to get e steps accurate. Fudging things removes precision! The more tuning parameters you use for tuning extrusion, the more of a knot you can tie yourself into. You should set your extrusion width to equal the diameter of your nozzle, and use shell thickess (or equivalent) to be a multiple of your nozzle diaby Mutley3D - General
I was thinking it doest look too bad, just a little hot maybe, then i saw your temp, confirmed too hot, white filament usually doest require as much heat either, try add some cooling aswell if not already got some. ...edit: and possibly slight over extrusion, try reducing e steps by between 2-5%by Mutley3D - General
Yes I am now shipping all outstanding orders, You will receive item via DHL Express by end of week. Due to a hard drive failure there has been an unexpected and somewhat testing delay, but im back in the saddle with a good gallop on . All affected orders will receive complimentary print surfaces with their shipment as a gesture to compensate for the unforeseen delays. My apologies to those affectby Mutley3D - General
Quotegreenman100 That already exists in Marlin. Does it? for one thermistor, or for two thermistors cross checking for a difference between them?by Mutley3D - General
IF (Heater == ON && TempRise != 1-10) Switch OFF Marlin people, could you look at this and implement. It does not rely on an accurate thermistor or thermocouple reading. If you need more info or to discuss as to the logic of implementation, come find me in irc. Note: If a temp probe falls out, temp will not increase if the heater is on. This is a good indicator. Sounds like you havent defined the print bed size in the firmware perhaps? Or in the host software (Pronterface?) Look for the following line in marlins configuration.h file (assuming use of marlin) #define Y_MAX_POS 150by Mutley3D - General
@yenbadnosyt - I'll get some files emailed over to you in the next couple of days. There will also be a general public release coming soon, but i have to clear my decks of other related duties first. With regard to the graphite, yes you should apply sparingly , admittedly its not an ideal lubricant to apply but it is the most effective for the gears since you will only need to do it once during iby Mutley3D - General
I have a glass cutting board, and it annoys the hell out of me However im sorry to say the idea of your surface being new, is not new (sorry). It is just a re-discovery, but earns points for the latral thinking. Glass chopping board is simply tempered/laminate/toughened glass. When that glass breaks it will be into many hundreds of tiy pieces, yes that type of glass. furthermore, you still haveby Mutley3D - General
My own experience is that a print cooling fan does help PET if printing smaller features. It can also ooze a bit on slow longer travel movements. But it is a good alternative filament that doesnt require anything vastly different from printing ABS or PLA.by Mutley3D - General

Why use a goop at all. Invest in a print surface as soon as you can, youll be glad you did.by Mutley3D - General
Dave loves to chew since rodents teeth dont stop growing. Dave also cant spit things out or regurgitate. He will more than likely chew the plastic and swallow. I'd avoid printed toys. The way to Daves heart is with lots of hay and grassby Mutley3D - General
CAD generally falls into two catagories. Parametric or NURBs based. Parametric is the preferred option for mechanical designs, makes use of a design tree and constraints. This allows you to go back in a design' construction and change parameters that are then automatically updated throughout the model/part your designing. NURBs is more a free form surface modeller that doesnt use a history treeby Mutley3D - General
FWIW I use double sided flooring tape from my local homewares/DIY depot store, $5 for more than you will ever need, including practice and failed attempts. The type used for sticking linoleum down (not carpet tape!). Its an acrylic tape (which is what the 3M stuff is iirc), extremely sticky, and far far cheaper than 3M tape. It comes on a roll 30-50mm widex50mtrs (depending where you get it froby Mutley3D - General
