I think I found the issue. I secured the pulley on my x-axis motor and it seems to have gone away. thanks for the help!by rjd - General Mendel Topics
This problem started happening recently and I'm not sure why. When I start printing an object the extruder will print out a great line as its traveling acros the build platform to the starting corner of the object. But when it starts laying down the skirt around the object it just doesn't seem to push out any filament. The extruder wears are turning like normal and I can't see any filament leakinby rjd - General Mendel Topics
I am having some issues with the x-axis shifting slightly to the left during a build. Sometimes this happens in the first few layers and sometimes it happens later in the build, which then ruins the part if there are screw holes or anything that needs to be straight. Has anyone run into this issue before?? If so, what could be going on?by rjd - General Mendel Topics

Hi I need some help setting up axis_steps_per_unit[] in my Configuration.h file. I am using the latest version of Sprinter, Printrun, and Skeinforge (41) in my setup. Can someone please explain the proper way to configure float axis_steps_per_unit[] = {80, 80, (3200/1.25)*2.5,700};? Specifically, I need to calculate the proper Extruder steps/mm rate but am not sure how to do so. I am using waby rjd - General Mendel Topics
Hi there, I need some help understanding how to mount the headbed that came with my Axis 2.1 kit from Botmill. Below are two shots of what I have. I have the Headbed MK1 from RepRapSource (I think) . I found the info on hooking it up so that's good. Looking at the image here, how should I mount the heatbed to the metal platform? The holes of my heatbed don't match up. The holes of the plby rjd - General Mendel Topics
I got my RAMPS 1.2 firmware setup and I am able to move each axis and the extruder motor with the controls in RepSnapper. I am using the Sprinter firmware. I made changes to Configuration.h on line 30 to get control in both + and - directions. const bool ENDSTOPS_INVERTING = true; As well as commented out line 28 since I'm not using mechanical optos. //#define ENDSTOPPULLUPS 1 Questions 1.by rjd - General Mendel Topics
Awesome thanks! I'll post back with any questions.by rjd - General Mendel Topics
I need some help setting up RAMPS with my Botmill Axis printer. I'm new to the software part of it. Can anyone that has experience with this please point me in the right direction. Thanks!by rjd - General Mendel Topics
Has anyone tried to make 3mm PLA filament at home using recycled materials? All PLA sourced of course.by rjd - Polymer Working Group
Thanks nophead, I was wondering if that was the issue. It seemed like it. Check out the botmil instructions for adding the pulley on the shaft. This has to be wrong since there would be alot of friction present between the edge of the washers and the pulley. I guess I could also put some longer screws in with small washers to hold the motor lower too...by rjd - General Mendel Topics
I am in the process of building a Botmill Axis 2.1 printer and need help understanding why Botmill decided to use a variation on the drive pulley gear for the X-Axis? In the Mendel instructions it says to use a gear that extends the entire length of the motor shaft but they are using this one that has a base. On the Botmill blog it says to push this down as far as you can on the drive shaft, wby rjd - General Mendel Topics
