hey bob yes your % on the first cube reference line, which is my outer box, hides it temporarily just like you said. it does this without placing # on the third and fourth cube reference lines.
this is what i get
whereas i was asking greg to help with the use of # to wind up with what is seen here
with this view i hope to physically be able to see what i am doing better to make a more int

so now knowing of those two characters i did a quick look for them and came up with this one for the #
greg can you look at my above entry and suggest where you would put the #. i tried several places and can not get it. is it just because they do not protrude?

yes thank you. works the charm.
why is it that being able to see inner items in what i would call a ghost view not something built in? are those that know the software that good they can do it blind.

difference() {
#cube (size = [2,6,20], center=true);
translate([0,0,0]) difference(){
cube(size=[1.5,5,17.5],center=true);
translate([0,5,0])rotate([12,0,0]){
cube(size=[2,10,30],center=true);
}
}
for(i=[0:9]) {
translate([-.9,-2,-9+1.8*i]) {
rotate([45,0,0]) cube([1.8,1,2.5]);
}
}
//translate([-25,-25,-7])cube([50,50,50])

new to openscad. does anyone know how you would see an object you place inside another object. say you have a 4" square cube with a 2" square cube inside it. all i can see is the outer, bigger cube.

is there a method and should we be establishing melting point of the different filaments when we start using them? getting our stock from ultimachine.

Printing
the red print was soon before changing the spool.
the black print is after we changed the spool.
we don't think changing the spool is the issue. as you can see we are getting decent prints (our opinion). there appear to be issues that could use some adjusting.
comments and suggestions to help fine tune our printer is requested.

tanks iggy. not frustrated. i am interested. 3dea.co comes up as forbidden. you did not give a whole lot of info. trying to weed out whether or not this was a crap post or not. .co is not so common in the u.s. since it is columbia's and i was not sure if you had made a typo and it was suppose to be .com
i am actually helping you out if anything!
and some great answers you gave. one more. age l
