Hi, There is moisture, but gas.....?! It comes out rough and not glass smooth, except if you dry it before. I am not drying it and it prints nicely with 0.1 mm layer height and 0.35 nozzle. I am extruding it at 210 Celsius (as per my thermistor) and printing at 230 Regards Miroby mirox3m - Plastic Extruder Working Group
I actually tested one board without the resistor, just grounded USB metal shield and it also works nice. Does anyone know what is the reason for the USB shield not to be grounded?by mirox3m - Mendel90
I haven't tested PLA and I don't plan to use PLA anymore. As I have read in Filastruder section of Solidoodle forum, it is much harder to make filament from it, since it needs to be cooled down to a much lower temperature.by mirox3m - Plastic Extruder Working Group
When the jumper is connected so that the Atmega is powered by 12v input via the 7805 stabilizer, the PCB track that routes from the jumper to the Mini USB acts as an "antenna" so the interference "goes back" to the PC. This resistor "removes" the interference by "slightly" grounding it. It is tested and works for hours in a room full of fluorescent lamps and other inductive consumers.by mirox3m - Mendel90
Hi guys! The USB interference problem has a very easy solution. You just have to solder the metal part of the mini USB port of the Melzi board to ground and add a resistor (1k-10k) between ground and +5V from the USB. We are producing and selling Melzis in emakershop and have recently implemented this solution. Here is a picture:by mirox3m - Mendel90
Just wanted to share my X3uder for filament. It is a RepRap inspired 12VDC Filament extruder, designed so that most parts are printable or readily available in hardware stores. The X3uder is powered by a RepRap controller and 12 VDC power supply that every user has with his 3D printer. It uses 2 x 40 watt 12 volt heating cartridges. The motor consumes between 0.5 and 3 amps, so the typical 15by mirox3m - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Really strange! But the well known to be good pellets Sabic IP MG94 (Cycolac is their other brandname) are available in UK and not in Bulgaria, so you are more lucky Could you, please share what is the price for a 25 kg bag if you plan to ask them? Important thing to note when trying to find good pellets is to search for High-flow, injection moulding and for thin wall applications, which isby mirox3m - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Hi, I'm glad you like the idea! I recently added it to Thingiverse for ease of download and manipulation:by mirox3m - Novinky, nápady, nová řešení
The natural ABS plastic pellets that I use for my X3uder are produced by LG an sold in packages of 25 kg and cost 82.70 Euro (20% VAT included) - 3.3 Euro per kg!!! The pellets are LG HF380 with MFR 43 g/10 min (220C/10kg) datasheet: You can buy them from if there is an office nearby - they have offices in 31 European countries.by mirox3m - Plastic Extruder Working Group
