I contacted Zen Tool Works and they suggested starting at 190C and working my way up by 5C until I can manually push filament through. I'll might that this weekend, but I've got other stuff I want to get printed with PLA for now.by gmh39 - General
QuoteCharles Fried I am currently using it as a rapid prototyping tool, I just don't see good profit being made selling printed items but more as a service for the design industry like Shapeways is doing very well. Although they still subcontract the printing to other company's so I think there would be a way to squeeze in and get the jobs done for a lower price. QuoteCharles Fried @gmh39 I would be looking to sell all types of printers from kits to plug and play printers to consumables. "The market is getting pretty saturated with vendors selling kits/printers." Strongly disagree, as far as I'm aware there's only one 3D print shop in London. I was referring to all the online vendors, not so much the brick and mortar stores. I know here in NYC there arby gmh39 - General
My suggestion is to not really bother selling kits, unless you design the printer yourself and it has a distinct advantage over other printers. The market is getting pretty saturated with vendors selling kits/printers. Since you are studying Furniture/product design, why not just using 3D printing a tool in your designs? Then if it is feasible you can sell design products that are made withby gmh39 - General
Anyone tried using conductive ABS? I recently bought a spool from Zen Tool Works, but have gotten nothing but nozzle jams. Granted, this is my first foray into ABS on my Printrbot Jr., but I had the temps set to 230 C and everything.by gmh39 - General
Sounds like a partial nozzle clog. Can sometimes be fix by extruding a bunch of filament and pulling it away from the hotend manually. Worse case you will have to take your nozzle off, heat it up, and scrap out the molten PLA.by gmh39 - Delta Machines
I have got a Form 1 printer for sale. It has been barely used, only a few prints and still has about half a liter of resin left. It is in great condition and is ready to go. Im selling because I am trying to move and won't have space in my new place for it. My loss is your gain. I will ship the printer, you just gotta pay the shipping cost. Paypal is preferred method of payment. Lookiby gmh39 - For Sale
OH, I didnt realize you didn't that your bowden tube connected. Yea that is definitely the problem. You need that tube to constrain the filament to a set path/distance since the extruder is not immediately before the hotend.by gmh39 - Delta Machines
lmxuu bearings and rails provide most consistency in fitment. yea, sure you might get the odd bearing that has a bit more slop or is more noisy, but overall it is easier. You just buy bearings/rod and assemble. The PLA printed parts require precision dimensional accuracy. If there is like a millimeter of slop in your slides, it will affect your print quality. So you need to print your slidinby gmh39 - General
I like to heat my extruder and run a few hundred millimeters through to make sure everything is running smoothly. Make sure you bring your hotend up off the build plate (i usually go 20-30 mm). My suggestion is to just raise your hotend and use your slicer to extrude some filament. Adjust the tension on the PLA as it is extruding until you start to get a smooth stream coming out. You might alby gmh39 - Delta Machines
You might not have enough tension on the PLA. I know on my Printrbot the PLA needs a good bit of tension.by gmh39 - Delta Machines
Quoterebuilder @gmh39 am using a Flashforge a replicator dual clone with some modifications in the extruder for abs as well (am using ABS at the moment). i am using Replicatorg for no reason i guess i never though Makerware will work on a clone. i think i will take your advice on .2 mm layer height and increase the travel federate. to see if i am going to save few hours. Quoteddseeker Quotegmh39 There is a thread on here somewhere about someone using printed parts (PLA?) along aluminum extrusion to act as a linear rail. It seemed that they got some pretty good results. This thread? Not that one, but it was a lot of the same people in the discussion. I'll see if I can track it down in my history. Couple of things: 1. Any particular reason you are using Replicator G? I would think either Makerware or even Repetier would give you more control over your print. 2. How tight of tolerances do you need? I know we print most things as 0.1mm layer height at work, but that is because they are manufacturing samples. For my personal stuff, I just go with 0.2mm at most. 3. Consider orientingby gmh39 - General

So I was doing some research for my next printer and I came across the Mondrian (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:22956). I've got a Rapman kit sitting around. It is completely disassembled, but the build area is like 10" x 10" (dont have it in front of me so I will have to double check). Comes with a like 20 lbs of filament in multiple colors. I want to get $650. PM me if you are interested.by gmh39 - Wanted

That's sick! With the price of bit coin lately you should only need like 1-2 coins to make your money back. Are you including the cost of the asic chips in your overall cost?by gmh39 - General
I've been planning something like this for my printrbot Jr. I would say the motors will be fine but you should check their voltages if they are already getting hot. The electronics should definitely be on the outside though. You need to make where it is sealed up. Sound will find any tiny little crack to get out.by gmh39 - General
