I just discovered this in my config.g file ( Thanks Dave for the clue ) not ten minutes ago and as i went to post the result, noticed you have posted the cause. I hadn't tried printing as i thought it would fail with it extruding so fast. This i now see was wrong and it would have been OK. Ian, are there any instructions for the 2 Colour upgrade kit? Mine arrived today and there are blank pagesby dixied - Ormerod
Sent G1 E20 F450 then G1 E20 F50 and both were the same fast rate i keep getting.by dixied - Ormerod
Hi ZPL I only have one head ( Extruder ) and when i did the 100mm extrusion calibration run, the printer extruded exactly 100mm so the M92 command reports the default reply as i haven't had to apply any compensation. For reference the reply was Steps/mm: X:87,Y:87,Z:4000 E:420.000000:420.000000:420.000000:420.000000:420.000000by dixied - Ormerod
I have just built an Ormerod 2 and i'm all done except for the calibration print. However as i was calibrating the extrusion, i have noticed that the extrusion motor runs too fast and when i adjust the rate ( In Pronterface ) it has no effect. Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong. For now i have RRP 0.78c firmware in the Duet and bog standard SD card image from their Github entry. Thanksby dixied - Ormerod

Hi David Put me down for one please.by dixied - Ormerod
Hi Ian Thanks for that, I will definitely look at that tonight as that fits with some very recent changes i have made to allow me to quickly move between ABS and PLA. I think i must have not reassembled the X-Axis properly. Before i messed with it it was perfect for weeks after my initial build. I may stick with ABS and leave it after that. Deanby dixied - Ormerod
Quoteormerod168 Son, that's no excuse, I'm 60 year old and yet I managed to turn and re-solder R60 and R61 on the duet PCB (with great help and encouragement from the group) ;-) Erik Dad, the glass bed is fine. It must be the x-axis twisting in the middle. I have an aluminium replacement but have not had time to fettle it and fit it so will have to get on it tomorrow. Thanks for the helpby dixied - Ormerod
Hi Ian, Understood, will prove it one way or the other tonight and then look for a local glazier. Hi Erik, why didn't i think of that Didn't try the flat rule as my eyesight is 47 years old! Deanby dixied - Ormerod
HI Erik Ok i should have said the bed to nozzle gap is 0 in each corner ( i have a alu bed support from Dave and i have it exactly level so don't need the set bed routine ) but in the middle the gap is -0.3mm. I assumed the glass was bowed but the x_Beam could be sagging in the middle i suppose. I assumed this beam would simply tilt and so cause this problem from the back to the front rather thaby dixied - Ormerod
After a few weeks use, my glass bed has bulged to such a point now that i can't print in the middle! I managed last night to offset a small print in the corner but anything that strays into the middle, causes the molten plastic ( ABS ) to backup and then purge when the nozzle traverses to a flat part. Is it a coincidence that the middle has bulged or could it be the constant pulling off completedby dixied - Ormerod
Hi Dave Thanks for doing this and put me down for two please.by dixied - Ormerod
Thanks for that. I'll try it. So do i take it Slic3r can't do this?by dixied - Ormerod
Hi I am slowly learning how to print ABS as half my prints need to be ABS. Looking at past posts i see that one person suggests 120 bed temp for the first layer then 90 for the rest with UHU glue on the bed. Unfortunately when i select this in the slic3r settings it outputs just 65 for the bed. I can see that this is produced from the custom Gcode section in slic3r but wondered how i can get theby dixied - Ormerod
PTFE spray lube fixed my noisy/slipping Z drive and dries to leave a slippy surface that does not attract dirt etc. After a few hours of printing before i lubed it, the threaded bar had a very sharp feel to it and there was a lot of Metal dust below the bar. I will have to replace it with a new bar/nut.by dixied - Ormerod
Hi Dave Just let me have your payment details for my two on order, as i would love to get at least one of them fitted when you are happy enough to ship. My std beds have to be calibrated before most prints and i think this should fix this.by dixied - Ormerod
Thanks Kim I'll experiment with your suggestions on Slic3r settings. Deanby dixied - Ormerod
My printer is now working well ( except for the constant bed compensation ) but i have noticed that the first 4-5 seconds of filament feed is non existent. This means that sometimes on small prints such as the Z-Gear, it misses the first layer. On larger prints its not such a problem as it only affects the fence it prints around the print. The extruder mech is not slipping, it just seems that theby dixied - Ormerod
Hi Can someone explain to me why the Z height cal appears to be lost after i do a bed compensation run ( G32 command ) I am trying to print the first axis test print and as it is a large print thought i better calibrate the bed level. I successfully set the IR probe level with G31 Zx.x Pxxx and Z height with G92 Z0. After homing Z the Z height is perfect and also after a power cycle it retains tby dixied - Ormerod
Hi Again For the two i have ordered i am fine with PAYPAL. Just let me know when and how much it ends up at. Deanby dixied - Ormerod
