If you look close at that picture the first wire is red and black. It is the only black wire in those wires and I have a solid red one a couple wires over. Where does that black wire connect on your board? I will check mine.by brlowe - Ormerod
I was hoping someone would be able to look at the pictures and say if they looked right or not. Anyone?by brlowe - Ormerod
I'm connecting my DC42 dual hotend board (Single setup) and want to make sure my left to right is correct as this can be messed up depending on which way you are looking at it. I'm viewing it from the wire end of the connector facing the board. See the picture included. So looking from the wire end I have on the 8 pin connector Black/Red,Purple,Red,Brown,Yellow,White,Blue,Green. On the 4 pin conby brlowe - Ormerod
I want to update the firmware on my 0.6 board and the 1.18.2 was the latest I could find. Are there any newer versions as I see this one is 9 months old. Brandonby brlowe - Ormerod
Hello everyone, I got my Ormerod 2 over 2 years and have still not finished or printed anything with it. I have had it powered up and moved the table and head around but no printing yet. The hot end is currently taken apart and getting rebuilt or updated. I have the Dual hot end board from DC42 that I'm installing. I also have one of his wifi board and a panel duo setup. I have had all of this foby brlowe - Ormerod
Thanks David. I just got me new parts for mounting the board so I will be rebuilding my hot end this weekend and hooking up your board. I have also ordered one of your new Duet boards. I think I was in group 3 so I'm not sure when I will get that. I almost want to wait until I have that to get it all hooked up and going. I have one of your display setups to install at some point also.by brlowe - Ormerod
Here is the board diagram and a couple pictures. I hope this helps. I see the picture on your wordpress page showing the 8 pin connector and the 4 pin connector. If you can just tell me what connections from the board got to which pin on the connectors I will be good. It looks like my wires have the same colors as the board diagram I'm including except for the 4 wires connected to the hot end heaby brlowe - Ormerod
I'm working with a Replikeo printer and I think the colors are different than the instruction. Does any one have the pin out for all the connectors on the dual board? I'm only using it as a single right now. Thank youby brlowe - Ormerod
Do you have a picture of this or is that the while printed parts on your instruction page I need. And just my luck while messing with the print head 3 of the six wires came out of the connector plug. I should just rewire now and install your board but have no way to get the parts. Quotedc42 My sensor board is best mounted on the hot end, not the carriage. Yes I'm still working on my Ormerod printer. I was ready to do a test print and I have a broken piece of filament in the tube leading to the hot end. So I stopped and then life got in the way again. I have now removed that and had to take the hot end off to do it. While putting it back on I noticed how much my hot end would rock side to side. I have the carriage that has a bearing that rolls on tby brlowe - Ormerod
I'm ready to try my first test print and I want to make sure if I stop it or let it finish what do I need to do to make sure the nozzle gets cleared and does not end up plugged? Also if it gets plugged is there any way to clear them? ***EDIT *** Do I turn the heaters on before selecting to print something or do they eat up automatically before the print starts?by brlowe - Ormerod
Sorry it took so long for me to get back at this. Yes I am running the stock sensor board. I have both of dc42's sensor boards but no way to mount them until I get this working and can print a new mount. So moving the head out to the middle 100,100 if I lower the nozzle til it touches I get a reading of 400 and yes it changes as the head goes up and down. The reading is not has high as it is overby brlowe - Ormerod
Hi all, I know I must be the slowest builder of one of the printers ever. So I have been working thru all the calibration the last couple days when I have time and I'm trying to set the Z probe now. I have gone thru the process a couple of times and the G31 command I'm entering is G31 Z2.0 P605 as these are the numbers I get following the process. Now when I hit the home buttons I have 2 problby brlowe - Ormerod
My replikeo had that same problem and I found that one of the cables had 1 wire pin in the wrong slot so take a close look at the wire harnesses.by brlowe - Ormerod
DC42, just wanted to let you know I loaded your 1.12a firmware and had no connection issues. I did download your driver files and install them too. If you remember I have problems with 1.10 not connecting. Now if I can finish setting up my printer.by brlowe - Ormerod
Ok I tried to see if this would help and still does not work. I even installed Arduino 1.6.8 to see if that helped. I did not get the options you listed in your request but here are some screen shots of what I did see. I hope these help as I would hate to think I'm stuck at this firmware level and anyone else that has this problem. Quotedc42 Quotebrlowe I am running windows 8.1 and Arduino 1.6.by brlowe - Ormerod
I am running windows 8.1 and Arduino 1.6.7. Is there a driver I can download and install or anything that might help it connect? Quotedc42 The USB manufacturer string has changed between version 1.10+4 and 1.11, which probably has something to do with why you can't connect to 1.11; but this is the first time I've heard of failure to connect to it using the Arduino Due driver. Ok I flashed 1.10+4 and I was able to connect to the printer again. I will try 1.11 later and see if I still have issues. I changed the M305 values to R1000 for my board. I connected to Pronterface and I was now able to command the hotend to heat up. So on to the next step. The only reason I'm using pronterface is because I'm following along with the instructions for setting it up. Is the web inby brlowe - Ormerod
Ok I flashed 1.11 and recreated my SD card with the files in your repository so eveything matched and now I cannot connect to my printer. In device manager under ports it shows Arduino Due on COM3 but under other devices it shows Duet with a yellow !. Driver update does not find drivers. Also I was connected on this computer right before the firmware update. Any ideas? Brandon Quotedc42 Perhapby brlowe - Ormerod
My Duet board does not have the 4.7k resistor so I thought that line stayed commented out. Am I wrong do I need to change this? Quote0x0000 Looks like your M305 commands in that screenshot have semicolons at the start of the line. Everything to the right of a semicolon is ignored (known as a comment). Remove those semicolons and try againby brlowe - Ormerod
Ok I replaced the config.g file and then it looed correct when listed out. I still cannot get a temp reading or heat to the hot end. I am including a screen shot of Pronterface to see if that helps. You can see I have the temp set to 200 but the hot end is still not doing anything. The bed is set to 40 and it is at 40. Hello all, it has been a while and my printer is not done yet but getting closer. I have new gears installed and working great thanks to Bart. He also sent me a spring loaded extruder drive so I have that installed too. So my current issue. I am going thru the steps out lined in the commissioning doc and I am running Pronterface. I just got my new gears and spring loaded extruder from Bart. They look great and I will be back working on my printer today after work. Thank you Bart for being so helpful.by brlowe - Ormerod
Thanks for the update. Not to be picky but check the center holes to make sure they look good. The 2 sets I got locally had holed that made them unusable for me as the nut would not fit in one and the other was too small to fit over the motor shaft by a long shot. The outsides looked great. Maybe that is the norm for 3d printing and I'm just expecting too much.by brlowe - Ormerod
Let me know if you do the crowd funding. Quoteorictosh Quotebrlowe Where can I get replacement quickset nozzles for an ormerod 2? Seems I may want some spares. Anything you have and or can print would be great. I can paypal you for shipping and costs. Brandon Quotebartdietrich I'll print you a set. Is there anyone here that could print me a good set of Z Axis gears so I can get me printer going. The gears that came with the kit suck and they bind like crazy.
