Further update to the info above. For some reason i still have issues with the uneven bed. The design seems unstable and the bed keeps having levelling issues. There is also no option to manually adjust the height so i am a bit stuck. Is there any good solution to this? The G29 offset seems to just point out the fact that the bed is uneven and on my Smartrap it does nothing to compensate durby mikefiatx19 - Smart_Rap
HI Guys, Regarding the thread above. Should I replace the red X 0.5 with the X value from the G29 probes? #define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER_DELTA_X 0.5 Thanks Mikeby mikefiatx19 - Smart_Rap
HI Guys, I also use repetier after trying it for the first time a few days ago. It's sooooo much better than pronterface. Regarding the head for the stuffmaker, i got a budaschnozzle for mine. Nechaus advised me to change and it works well. I just built a smartrap machine as a second printer, after 48 hrs messing with the auto calibrate function its finally producing parts. I still need to tby mikefiatx19 - General
HI CellJeffe, Thanks that helped a lot. I actually needed a minus offset for some reason but I have it printing now. I do still have an issue with the fact that the bed closer to the machine is a good height but the part further away above the roller bearing is lower. The offset doesn't take into account the angle of the bed. I can only print small items or the ends wont stick due to the bedby mikefiatx19 - Smart_Rap

Still banging my head on a wall here. EEPROM is enabled in Marlin but the offset is not making any difference to my prints. The head is just dragging through the plastic. As a test I even set the head offset to M555 Z4 as i knew this should be too high, the program just ignores it though. Serge is not responding to my emails which is nice. And there is no method to manually adjust the bed atby mikefiatx19 - Smart_Rap
OK, unit is running and the heatsinks are fitted. I have some 'Jane Seymour Wonder Set Hairspray' thats been in the bathroom for years. It works ok for sticking PLA to the glass BTW but i will borrow some pritt stick from work tomorrow :-). So, I started a first print and i noticed that the auto calibrate nozzle is acting as follows during the print start. 1- nozzle presses on the bed until swby mikefiatx19 - Smart_Rap
HI Guys, Thanks for the huge amount of support, I will try to reply to everyone now. RTurnock. I have Arduino software on my PC and I have some experience with flashing firmware. Luckily enough the correct Marlin version is already on the board installed by Smartfriendz so thats one problem sorted. If there is confusion about if heat sinks need to be used then i think i might go with the sideby mikefiatx19 - Smart_Rap

Hi Guys, Maybe someone can help me with a few Smartrap issues. 1) Does anyone have any info about fitting the new J-head lite? I just got my Smartrap through the post from Smartfrienz and there are no documents advising on how to put it together or adjust it. I assume the Ramps board included is pre-programmed to accept the new auto levelling setup but again I am unsure. 2) Do i need to put heatby mikefiatx19 - Smart_Rap
Hi Mike, For the first three weeks I loved the machine. It worked ok or so I thought. Then it slowly became less reliable. The extruder gears decompose and end up blocking the nozzle and getting dust everywhere. The extruder clamping arm dissapears into the filament. Then you start to realise you need to change some things. Best part is you cant change anything because they dont install a boby mikefiatx19 - General
Well guys, i got my first print off the new ramps board setup and it's ugly as hell. Just need to calibrate now until it looks good. Thanks for all the help. I will keep you posted.by mikefiatx19 - General
I already have the ramps board here so theres no going back to gen 6. I have rewired up the motors with new connectors and am replacing the optos with microswitches. Hopefully i can print soon. Thanks for all the help guys and i will keep you updated on the progress. Regards Mikeby mikefiatx19 - General
ARGH!!!!!! Uploaded the file and it turns out it is the stepper motor thats blown. There was a bad connection of the stepper motor wire and i never noticed. This probably killed the driver. And as the board is a gen6 I am royally screwed. Oh well, new mother board is needed. Thanks for all the support guys. Mikeby mikefiatx19 - General
Thanks S10blazed, You are awesome. Thanks for the PM. I will flash the unit and report back once i have the full set of arduino files. Sorry i was mistaken when i only asked for the config.h file, i assumed it would be part of a batch of files along with the other arduino setup files. A newbie mistake. Regards Mikeby mikefiatx19 - General
Hi S10blazed, I have a different model but they may use a similar setup on their motors and optos. Anything is worth a try at this point so if you could please either pm the Arduino config file or post it for download for me that would be great. I also have the bootloader installed so uploading the file should be no problem. Really, i am pulling out my hair here. My GF is telling me she missesby mikefiatx19 - General
Update!!! After a knightmare session of Marlin updating i have produced a Marlin version that almost runs my 3D Stuffmaker and the gen 6 board. The only problem now is that the X axis does not respond at all. I have swapped the motor cables and the motors all work fine. I have checked all of the endstops and they all work fine, the M199 enstop status line reported all 3 endstops were functiby mikefiatx19 - General
Hi Guys, Personally i would like to see a preferred seller section in this forum where i know that the components i buy would work as intended and that any support given would apply to that particular component and not a slightly diferent version of that part. But one concern that does come to mind is cost, for example, i wanted a budaschnozzle but i didnt have 100 bucks to spend with Lulzbot.by mikefiatx19 - General
Hi Guys, After a long time away from the printer due to the birth of my daughter i decided to give the printer some attention again and i have a new problem with my 3d stuffmaker. I changed the extruder and now i need to calibrate the marlin software to adjust the steps per mm of filament. I have the gear to burn a bootloader and thats no problem but i need a compatible marlin file to run the mby mikefiatx19 - General

Holy $hit, There is a MERCURY TREATMENT FOR BOVINE PLAGUE!!!! Who would have thought that would exist, i just tried the search "mercury bovine plague" myself after i wrote the post. This post shows up as No. two in the google search by the way.by mikefiatx19 - General
OK, so i just copied the term "Flexidrive is Flex3Drive Early Birds" from the main page of this forum and copied it into Google. First hit was this forum. If i post an imaginary story about how lets say "a complex mercury based alloy can cure the plague using bovine cells" and then someone else invents a way of curing the plague using mercury and bovine cells, the keywords "bovine, mercury &aby mikefiatx19 - General

Hi, did you get your Phoenix printer? I have been waiting since last year for delivery of the Kickstarter unit. Regards Mby mikefiatx19 - RepRap User Group - Tulsa, OK
Thanks DeuxVis, I never heard of this site before. There are 2 printers within 5 minutes of my house. I will order with them. Thanks Mikeby mikefiatx19 - Job Shop: I need stuff made!
Hi, Could you please give me a cost estimate for printing the QUBD prusa x carriage in ABS with shipping to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Thanks Mikeby mikefiatx19 - Job Shop: I need stuff made!
Update, Still trying to get the printer running but i have been busy the last few weeks so haven't really put in much effort. 3dstuffmaker have emailed me asking that i give them positive feedback on Ebay and they will give me one kg PLA with maintenance kit + 3 months skype support for free. Their email is below. I don't like this approach of bribing people to get positive feedback. Dear Custby mikefiatx19 - General
I have seen a few builders that have used some kind of high tension string (braided fishing line / spectra line) instead of belts and they report the same accuracy as a belt driven machine. I use belts just because the mechanics of how they work is so simple and they have been tested and found to be the preferred method by almost all reprap builders. I think if everyone is already doing it thenby mikefiatx19 - General
@vinniyo Do you have a 3dstuffmaker, if you have a cReator 3d printer then your in the wrong thread and none of us have experience with your type of machine? I have only ever had an issue like this in the beginning when i forgot to switch off the power saving options on my laptop. The laptop powered down and crashed the print. I am unsure how to fix the excess strings, i get those too when myby mikefiatx19 - General
It's called a BOM (Bill of Materials i think). You need to know what you will be making before you can work out the cost. Look at this link and try to do some of the work yourself. Once you know what you want then ask a more specific cost estimate.by mikefiatx19 - General
