Scott, HacDC...either this Thursday or the coming Monday (I'm usually there at least those two days every week). Bring you, your bot and whatever questions you got. We will figure it out. As for the missing pieces, I can print you whatever extruder you want. If you want to use the parts you have noq, that's fine...if you want a whole new extruder, that's fine too. Let me know what you want andby digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
No takers? Too little too late?by digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Ok, I've searched long enough and come up empty at a place near my home. BUT luckily I've become a member of HacDC and I am going to start holding 3D printer users groups meetings there. I'd like to host them on a Saturday, in hopes that as many people could come out then as opposed to sometime during the week. Let's start off just once a month? Say start at 12 (noon)? I'd be able to start as soby digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG

Yeah, I agree, that's why I kinda said I'm more focused on selling PRINTED STUFF as opposed to PRINTERS. If people have money to throw at silly bands (rubber bands inby digiFAB - General
Owism8, Funny you mention this now, I'm just about ready to do just what you are talking about in a mall near me. More focused on selling prints rather than printer though, as well as the education on CAD and printer usage. I'll be sure to keep you informed on how it goes.by digiFAB - General
Well i registered with MC County to register for a room, but from the looks of it, we had to have booked WAY in advance. I live right down the street from the spot. I'll swing by and have a chat with them, I can't imagine it being booked ALL the time. @bobtiki: is that your email address? "+" signs are allowed? Where are all the other interested parties/individuals?by digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Brnrd is right on the money! Let's do that! We can all split the costs? Now for a who, a where and a when... Just start chiming in if you are interested, include you email and I'll aggregate into a list/google group/etc. to mass email folks.by digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
I know MikeMike is interested, what about the rest of you peoples?by digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Not super close, but I;m in the Boyds/Germantown/Gaithersburg area. A few folks on a previous thread did mention that they were in the Frederick area. I am trying to gather up folks for some sort of meetup. Let me know if you are interested.by digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
So let's start planning this meetup. A when and a where? Seeing as most of us that responded to the previous posts are in the relative area of each other, I say scratch the DC meet up and plan somewhere closer (Germantown/Gaithersburg/Rockville area? Sorry Frederick ). Anyone know of a place we could reserve for a couple hours for a gathering of 3D printer-ers?by digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG

I am possibly organizing a meet up after the holidays. A few folks showed interest in the thread "Revive the RUG." MikeMike, if yo could post there I can keep track of everyone that is interested.by digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Sounds like there is enough for a meet up, any interest? As for printing with PLA, it is best to use a heated bed with a sheet of clean glass. Hot glass and PLA is AWESOME! Parts stick really well and release as it cools, no work needed on your part (as long as your patient enough to let it cool down). I have a bunch of PCB HBP's (the red Prusa design you see most people using). I've only testeby digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Seems like you're out of luck if you're looking for another hackerspace nearby. There is Unallocated Space, but they are in Severn, MD...so not really closer . Like I told Scott above, I'm in the Germantown/Gaithersburg area, so if you need any help, I'm not too far. Great choice on the MakerGear Prusa btw, it's one of the best kits put together out there and comes highly recommended from the cby digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Sounds awesome, Scott. I live in the Gaithersburg/Germantown area, so I'm not too far. Extruding pellets sounds like an awesome idea. Well if you need any help with your build or any questions (I hope you are build a Prusa Mendel?), feel free to contact me.by digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Alright, I know this group exists and I don't really know why I haven't tried to rally everyone up until now. But man, I know there are alot of other RepRappers in the area and I think we should all hang out! So, if you're a RepRapper or 3D printerer (Repstrap, Makerbot, w/e), reply to this email so I know you exist and I'll try and get some meetings worked out and scheduled somewhere at sometiby digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. Ian, I'm local if you need any help. I think its safe for me to say I'm pretty active in the RepRap community and been working on the project as a whole for a few years coming. I held the first US RepRap build workshops (check me out @ digifabindustries.blogspot.com). (In case you see my post elsewhere and it is eerily the same, I am not a spammer or a ROBOT, I am a real human!) But yeah, I aby digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Nathan, I'm in the relative area to you. Boyds, MD. I'm pretty active in the community and headed up some of the first US RepRap build classes. Check me out on my blog (digifabindustries.blogspot.com). I'm always looking for other RepRappers in the area (or helping to create some more). Let me know if you need any help, I've also got a decent amount of excess inventory from the workshops (electby digiFAB - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
