Bugger, that's a pain. I managed to scrape the PEI off the aluminium bed in one piece. Now just have to find a way to remove this stubborn 3M adhesive. I have some flat black muffler paint here so it's high temp and should do the trick. Will report back once this is done, hopefully solves the problem.by IBaz - Prusa i3 and variants
No glass. Just the heatbed under the aluminium build plate as per the OEM setup. I've just added a PEI sheet to the top of this originally thinking the original probe would have enough distance to read through the PEI but it didn't. This is why I went for this probe but it just doesn't seem to sense correctly.by IBaz - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks Wes, I did manage to work that out and inverted the endstop as above. It now seems to be probing as before but it is very inconsistent. Some probes it smashes the nozzle into the bed while others it will stop several millimeters above it. I just don't think it reads the PEI sheet correctly. I have this adhered directly to the aluminium bed.by IBaz - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteIBaz QuoteWes78 An alternative to the factory sensor, especially for those that want to print on glass. I have this sensor on my other printers and it works Flawlessly. It's a plug and play. QuoteIBaz Sorry if this has been covered before but does anyone know if it is possible to extend the range of the proximity sensor for bed detection? Thanks veaceonee. I have ordered a 5mm sensor to replace the standard item. Hopefully it will do the trick. The next thing I'd like to upgrade is the heat bed. Having the large bed has anyone found a suitable silicone heat mat that is the correct size? I'm having trouble finding something in the right size and power that will give quick heat up times.by IBaz - Prusa i3 and variants

I am running a version of your firmware but have been for ages, long before this problem started. I have not changed any settings that I know of, seems a very strange thing indeed.by IBaz - Prusa i3 and variants
This may have been covered before but I have just had a weird thing happen. When saving a new .gcode file to my SD card and installing it in the printer to print it would be listed as the top file easy to find and always listed by most recent file. Now whenever I save a file to the SD card it lists totally random on the printer making it frustrating to find the most recent file now having to seaby IBaz - Prusa i3 and variants
Has anyone tried this PEI/Ultem as a build surface yet? I have only seen good reviews on it and am considering giving it a go. The only problem I see is that I'm using the proximity sensor for bed leveling and wondering if this will still sense through the PEI sheet. I believe the sensor only has a 2mm range so with a 1mm PEI sheet and approximately another 1mm in 3M adhesive this could contact tby IBaz - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteWes78 2 questions for you 1. What is your acceleration set at? 2. Have you tried to up the drive current? Wes, 1. Acceleration is still factory. Thanks Ax but referring to my last problem I can't talk to the board to change firmware. My new board actually arrived just today (MKS Base V1.4) so am yet to give it a go so it may even fix this problem also. I have the large bed with a Trespa carriage. Slightly lighter than the Acrylic but super stiff. This also has four bearings so eliminates the slight yaw I was getting with only three bearinby IBaz - Prusa i3 and variants

Hi all, firstly let me state that I am as green as they come to 3D printing and having just assembled my very first Migbot I am at a loss as to where to go from here. Luckily I have stumbled across this thread as there does not seem to be much information out there regarding this machine.
