Flashed marlin 1.1.9 in desperation! Hotend heated as soon as power was switched on, I didn't even set to preheat! Switched off and after letting cool down, changed the heater cartridge and thermistor. Switched on and hotend read around 30 degrees, set to preheat and temperature went up, set to cool down and temperature fell! So it appears that either my thermistor or heater were damaged. Tried to change the thermistor from 1 to 5 in marlin but it made no difference. The hotend doesn't cool down, its as if it's stuck at 150 degrees. What am I doing wrong?by rockhopper - Firmware - Marlin
The hotend is a V6 clone using the standard glass bulb type thermistorby rockhopper - Firmware - Marlin
Ok, so I'm finally making progress with my MKS Gen L! Marlin flashed, display working, steppers all moving in right direction and homing correctly. In order to test the extruder I had to heat the hotend to over 170 degrees. I did this by setting preheat PLA, nozzle. I did not heat the bed. The hotend quickly heated to 200 degrees, and held. I performed my extruder test and selected cool down. Nozby rockhopper - Firmware - Marlin
Thanks for all the advice, the display board was defective, replaced and all working well now, except for a cooling issue that I will place on another thread.by rockhopper - Firmware - Marlin
Yep, tried that as well! Should the old Anet display work?by rockhopper - Firmware - Marlin
I've already rotated the cables. If i connect correctly the display beeps, I've been told this indicates it's connected wrong. If I rotate the connectors the beep stops and the backlight comes on. If I press the knob the main board lights a blue led Thanksby rockhopper - Firmware - Marlin
I have a similar problem, RepRap full graphic not working with MKS Gen L. Backlight works and the board seems to be connected as a blue light lights on the board when I press the knob. Did you manage to find a solution? Thanksby rockhopper - Firmware - Marlin
Hi first time poster here, I have a Anet A2 plus that I successfully upgraded to Marlin so I could enable thermal protection and mesh bed leveling. While upgrading the hotend I managed to damage the main board, so was forced to replace. I purchased a MSK Gen L, and suitable stepper drivers. I hadn't realised that the Gen L doesn't have an SD slot, so had to purchase a RepRap full graphic smart coby rockhopper - Firmware - Marlin
