Ok. I'll run the update today. In the meantime here are a few images.by DrPFF - Duet
It appears I spoke too soon! The PWM fans all just turned ON and stopped responding to commands to turn it off again. Below is another M122 report. Is there anything else I can check? Another clue may be that when this happens the duet also won't respond to hitting the emergency stop button on the web interface. If I physically cut the power, however, it acts normal again after I turn it back onby DrPFF - Duet
Thank you dc42. I didn't have proper ferrules on the duex as i had run out of stock. After seeing your response I went back and installed the ferrules and haven't had the problem since. Will let you know if it pops back up but I doubt it will.by DrPFF - Duet
Weird issue here I'm having trouble pinning down. All of my PWM fan ports on both the duet wifi and the duex expansion board occasionally stop responding to commands. The only way to regain control is to cycle the power to the board. The frequency of occurrence is something like once every two weeks. Still, I'm using some of the fan outputs to control DC motors and solenoids and such so it's a biby DrPFF - Duet
No, I didn’t try that one. I will try it next week when I get back from vacation and report the results. However, for what it’s worth, after I tried 1.20 I skipped back to 1.18.1 and that one worked.by DrPFF - Duet
My apologies. It's been a long day. Just realized I made a mistake in the above description. I actually didn't try firmware 2.0. I thought about going for that one first but after I read about it for a quite a while I wasn't sure it supported the older boards so I decided to start with 1.21. After having a lot of trouble there I then tried 1.20 as I said previously.by DrPFF - Duet
I've had an extra board laying around for a while (v0.8.5) that was running 1.16 firmware. I wanted to start using it again for a new machine so I grabbed it and verified it still worked. I could connect it to the web interface and communicate with it without issue. I then decided to upgrade firmware as it looks like some pretty cool things are coming out recently. I tried the 2.0 first. I made sby DrPFF - Duet
Quoteo_lampe QuoteM92 E1:3060 ; Set extruder steps/mm Is that line correct? Wouldn't it better be E: And is it in the correct place of the config file? I have set my e-steps line after the tool-definition o_lampe, You're correct. Actually on this board the E0 driver is burnt out. I don't really remember why I changed the steps per mm of E0 to 1 step per mm but nothing is hooked up to E0 anywaby DrPFF - Duet
Aha! Thanks dc42! I'm just using an extra duet board I had around and trying some experimental things with this setup. I'm shooting for maximum torque to see how much work I can get these geared Nema 23 motors to do. Now that I know the issue I can trick the firmware into doing what I want. I'll scale the steps per mm down by a factor of 100, and scale the acceleration, max speed, and jerk up byby DrPFF - Duet
Yes, the E36 in the M203 command was intentional. Referring back to my first post, my goal is to control the speed of the geared motor connected to E1 in the range of 1-30 rpm. I originally had the max speed at 3600, which of course is way faster than I'd ever be able to make it spin. I dropped it to 1/100 of that value as you suggested in your first reply, which should be fine since it is stillby DrPFF - Duet
Thanks! That took care of the steps/mm issue. I swapped the order of those commands in the config and now a command to move 1 mm results in 1 revolution. However, I'm unable to change speeds again with these config parameters. Both the ungeared motor on X and the geared motor on E1 both spin at 30 rpm as measured with a stopwatch when I command it to move at either "F1" or "F10" speeds. Here is mby DrPFF - Duet
Thanks for the reply dc42! I forgot to mention that I am supposed to have micro stepping off here. I have the following at the end of my config file. M350 X1 Y1 Z1 E1:1 I0 ;micro stepping off, no interpolation G91 ;relative x,y,z movements M83 ;relative extruder movements M302 P1 ;allow extruder motor to operate at cold temps I've tried another ungeared stepper motor to simplify things pluggedby DrPFF - Duet
I'm running firmware v1.20 on a duet wifi. I have a 15.3:1 geared nema 23 that is connected to E1 on the board. My goal was to control the motor in rounds per minute in the range of about 1-30 rpm. According to the data sheet it is a 1.8 degree per step motor, so 200 steps per revolution. 200 x 15.3 = 3060 which is what I assumed should give me one revolution. But when I enter that into the confiby DrPFF - Duet
It's alive! Spelling out the port for it like this "bossac --port=tty.usbmodem1461 -b -U -e -w -v DuetWiFiFirmware.bin -R" did the trick. Thank you!by DrPFF - Duet
Ah thank you. I installed the GUI bossa v1.8 for mac and gave it a shot, and while i seem to be getting a little further, I'm still stuck. Currently after I erase and reset the board, I can find the duet port which for me is cu.usbmodem1461, I select it, then I attempt to flash your latest release of DuetWiFiFirmware.bin and I get an error indicating the flash command failed. I also tried runniby DrPFF - Duet
So a buddy of mine was trying to update his firmware on his duet wifi and he didn't follow the instructions for normal firmware updating. Instead, he erased it and tried to flash the new firmware. After having a lot of trouble he turned to me to fix it. I feel obligated to help as I turned him onto using the duet board. I've used the "erase" button and flashed firmware several times before with hby DrPFF - Duet
Not using FTP. My duet 0.8.5 is hooked up to a router which is hooked up to my university's network. I had out IT guy set it up. He used port forwarding to do it. But I also checked it with a shared internet connection straight out of my laptop's ethernet port to the duet and it was still doing it so I didn't think the port forwarding would be the problem.by DrPFF - Duet
Web interface is 1.13 Firmware is 1.16 Thanks!by DrPFF - Duet
I need a few pointers on this issue. I saw a similar issue posted here about 6 months ago but the solution in that case ended up being a folder not named correctly on the SD card (gcode instead of gcodes). I checked mine and it is right though so I have a different issue apparently. Symptoms are pretty much the same though. I am connected on web interface everything responds well including movemeby DrPFF - Duet
That was it! Silly oversight on my part. Thank you sir.by DrPFF - Duet
I have the these switches, wired with colors matching the attached diagram, and my firmware settings for endstops are in the attached screen shot. The endstops all work as is though...by DrPFF - Duet
This is on a freshly-built Dbot printer. At the moment I am only using 1 extruder so I have commented out all of the sections in the config file related to the second one. When I'm in the web interface only the one heater shows up, as expected, and it works fine. The strange thing is that the LED signaling that heater #2 is ON is lit up all the time as well as the second PWM fan LED. I checked wiby DrPFF - Duet
