This is the place to describe improvements to RepRapPro Huxley
Huxley Mini-Spool
A horizontal mini-spool to store a small amount of filament right under your Huxley.
Mattroberts'_Huxley_Paste_Extruder
Replace the hotend with a 5ml syringe.
Mattroberts'_Huxley_Carriage
Adds nuttraps to the carriage, so you replace the self tapping screws with metal screws.
Achieving the Golden Standard - 100 microns
Upgrade the standard 0.5 stainless steel one piece nozzle which comes with your Huxley kit.
Installing the RepRapPro 0.3mm nozzle will produce finer quality printing at the 100 micron golden standard or better.
(See: eMAKERshop, 0.3 Stainless Steel One Piece Nozzle)
N.B: It requires your Huxley to be very accurately calibrated and substantially increases print time!
Ditch_Those_PLA_Pulleys
Obtain and fit x2 T2.5-16T aluminium pulleys to you RepRapPro Huxley’s X and Y stepper motors.
(See: eMAKERshop, Think3DPrint3D)
You should see a substantial increase in print quality, especially when printing circular or curved objects.
N.B: You will find removing the small shoulder (using a metal work lathe) from one end of both of the pulleys makes it much easier to mount them on Huxley’s drive shafts.
Finally, don't forget to modify the Huxley’s firmware from 14 to 16 teeth step count.
Smooth_Rod_Lubrication
Optimum carriage travel for all 3 axis can be obtained by applying "Super Lube" (Synthetic Grease with PTFE) to all smooth rods.
It provides a substantial improvement over white lithium grease, as it provides the lowest coefficient of friction.
N.B: It's costly for a relatively small quantity.
DIY_Cooling_Rack
You can make a small wire glass bed cooling rack by obtaining a 120mm diameter PC fan guard.
Folding down all four circular lugs creates small support legs.
