Belt splitter jig
Mendel uses belts which are only 5 mm wide, but stock belts for the suggest pitch (5 mm) usually come in either 10 mm or 15 mm widths. The belt splitter jig is needed to split these wide belts.
The two RP part files (see BOM below) for the belt splitter can be found in the cartesian bot files. The spacer is used to split remaining 10 mm belt widths in half.

Assembly
BLADE WARNING: Use leather gloves or be prepared to loose fingers.
This is what it should look like, though the belt as been omitted for clarity ;-)
Operation
BLADE WARNING: Use leather gloves or be prepared to loose fingers.
Assemble with the belt in place. Tighten bolts. Work the blade into the belt.
Insert blade fully. It is safest to clamp the whole assembly in the vice, then pull belt through.
