Ulticampy 3D Printer

Ulticampy.jpg

Introduction

This is the very first version of the Ulticampy 3D printer, fully functional.

It's an inexpensive 3D printer that you can build, more robust and reliable than a Prusa or a Mendel. Also, you can close it completely to minimize noise and keep the heat inside.

It has a very clean aesthetic thanks to the fact that nuts are embedded within the panels, giving it a clean and commercial look.

Printing speeds are considerable higher than any Prusa or Mendel.

You can build it in a single or double extruder version, the filament thrusting method is a bowden system that saved us axis weight, that way we can use 6mm rods to enhance the printing speed without imperfections.

Printing size for a double extruder is ~175x180x200(mm). If we use a smaller central carriage with a single extruder the printing size is ~220x230x200(mm).

The Ulticampy uses the Z axis self-leveling system implemented in the last Marlin firmware, this helps us prevent continuous calibration of the Z axis endstops.

The bronze bushings for the X and Y axis movement don't need a lot of maintenance, thus improving reliability and overall maintenance compared to linear bearings.
