Automatic toolchanger Pinch to Grab
With an automatic toolchanger you want the dynamic tool (the tool in use) to be held in place as securely as possible.
We also want as much contact surface as possible for watercooling. (as described in Automatic toolchanger watercooling)
Method of solution
By method of Pinch and Grab we will pinch the dynamic tool into the toolholder.
The toolholder has a static surface and a dynamic moving surface towards the static surface, and in between those 2 surfaces, the active tool is pinched and grabbed.
