Just had a thought about this.

Melting point of 177C

[www.ebay.com]

130lb test has a diameter of 1.13mm

I'd have to do more digging to calculate the cost ratio. 10lb test is rather cheap and abundant but I'm uncertain it would have the rigidity to work in current extrudes.

Nice idea.

Something like fly fishing line would be better though as its far thicker. However upon doing a little research it appears they have a pvc coating which isn't ideal.
