Thermistor for heat bed

Hi,

When I bought my hot end, the seller included a spare thermistor.. I'm wondering if this could be used for the MK2 heat bed?

1) Will it be able to fit through the hole in the middle?
2) Is that the correct type of thermistor in terms of it electrical properties..

Many thanks.

if using sprinter:

use the same thermistor table as your extruder in the configuration.h file and you should be fine. find out the resistance that is used in series with your on board extruder control with a node going to an adc channel.

yes it fits in the hole in the middle, and there are several thermistor tables for sprinter firmware. just use the same table and the same resistance in series as long as the thermistor is an identical value as what you are currently using. when compiling firmware use version .18 as there are some issues to be worked out in the newer versions of arduino host and compatibility with sprinter.

the mk2 can be found here [www.emakershop.com] (no relation to them , just they have a good picture of it)

yes that tiny hole was placed in center for thermistor.

basic setup matches with the mk1 found here [josefprusa.cz]

good luck!
