Z-Axis slipping?

Z-Axis slipping?

Hi everyone,

So I finally got the Z-axis going. Sort of. It keeps on slipping where the two nuts and spring are located. I've taped up the nuts so that they are really snug, however it still keeps on slipping. Is it OK to super glue them in?

Here are some pics:

You shouldn't need them to be snug, in fact at least the top nut needs to be free to slide or the spring is useless. The bottom nut should be underneath the x end. There should be no possibility of it sliding since it rests on the bottom nut.

For the benefit of others with a similar problem what did you do?

Haha, ok,

So bellow the X-Ends, there is actually a Nut holder, which is obviously where, one M8 nut is supposed to go (silly me!) This allows the tension of the spring inside the holder, and the top nut, to make sure that the aforementioned problem does not occur, due to the tension created by the bottom of the X-Ends and the top nut.

quite a good design grinning smiley

I make mine with the top and bottom nut's tight and no spring, they go up and down really nicely. Attached is the idler .stl for my linear Prusa's
