Was wondering if you good people could help me figure out from this diagram which color is which phase and which +/-. I couldn't be more confused about what this diagram is telling me and have searched far and wide.

This link from LIn Engineering might help you. Go there, print to pdf, save for future reference (never trust that an online resource will stay online indefinitely..(trust me when I say they don't, even from the big boys.)

Presuming a four wire motor

Phase A : red(+) & blue(-)
Phase B : green(+) & black (-)
