Yes, I only had a few of those drop-in type of nuts. They are nice but ridiculously expensive. I only use them for post-construction attachments like LCD/keypad/spool holder/etc.

HNKK5-5

$19.32 for an unknown sized pack of sheet-metal ones - probably 100.

Yes, that would be a 100 pcs. bag according to the price, though my quotes are in euros.

No. Assembly works just like a MendelMax for example, any t-nut that fits the profile and a screw to lock the printed part against it.

I have just about everything ordered. ~$637 so far. There are just a few things I did not include in the cost - like the wire. Also I will get the power supply and power cable from an old PC. I am going to say that one can do it for under $700.

RobTheSlob changed my life when he showed me [www.boltdepot.com] - saved ~$80 over McMaster.

One does have to wonder though - you can build this for $800 or I could have just ordered a 12x16x10" RigidBot for $855. They claim Oct delivery.

What do you-all think of standard bearings vs the $5.95 each plastic bushings they use? It is like $65 vs $15.

I am not sure if they switched to Igus bushings in the public STLs also, so you might wanna check before ordering the LM10UU. Even so, the STLs for LM10UU had the hole slichtly larger then the regular LM10UU: R9.7mm vs R9.5mm, never bothered to ask why exactly.

The only 3D printer kickstarter I'm aware of that has delivered all the kickstarter-ordered printers is Printrbot. I wouldn't hold your breath, especially if they aren't sharing their design/code/BOM/etc.

That is also what I bought, but I just discovered that you can buy Misumi SFU10-500 for ~$16.50 each. They are H7 ground and not stainless. Comes to about $13 more than the McMaster. I have no evidence they are better though.

I would not either. I think they will discover that when you make a bed that size, it is very expensive to make it flat across the entire surface! My pool table may be that flat, but it is heavy and expensive. A cast Mic-6 plate would be nice - it is what I bought for my TAZ build - but it is not in their budget. Also for 16 inches of travel, I would not even want to use 10mm rods. When you go larger size, then the cost goes up and the shipping weight goes up. They will have to either compromise, and use smaller rods than ideal, or eat into profits. And who knows when they will ship.
