Feel free to add to the list and provide links.

Aluminatus has some impressive claims, saying that the printer can do .2mm layer heights look as good as .1mm layers from competing printers. I am more impressed with the claims that it can go as low as .025mm layer height resolution. Thoughts anyone?

This is off topic but printing at .025mm will look good but wouldn't it also mean taking 8 times as long to print the same thing at .2mm layer height? Would it be easier, faster, and maybe even smoother if you post process your print by chemical or high grit sand paper?

If your printer is extruder speed limited then thinner layers allow you to move faster. This certainly was the case in one of my older printers, time to print .5 and .2 layers were very similar.

I happened to notice this one on Kickstarter [www.kickstarter.com]

And Qu-bd are taking pre-orders/beta on their dual printer/mill [www.kickstarter.com]

All of the recent crowdfunded printers seem to have been fully funded, which is encouraging given the economic climate. A few of these claim to be "open source" as well, which really means they will publish the desgn files sometime, the value of which can be seen by the community improvements to the QU-BD extruder.

Ok, the first kickstarter the RoBo don't think that one will make it into production. SeeMeCnc who makes injection molds for a living believes the costs to make the molds will be too high to see production.

The
Revolution looks interesting.

We also have our Revolution and Revolution XL which are built to the same quality standard (100% CNC machined metal) as the RPM (Printer/Mill) but are 3D printing only and are significantly less expensive.

Revolution XL with a 9.5x9x9 Build Area

Revolution with a ~6x5.5x5.5 Build Area

We got the MAX kits now. Not a 2013 really, we'll call it a late 2012 model? Or, if it were a car, we could call it a 2014, right?
