What happens if laptop shuts down during print?

I've been wondering whether anyone has any experience with this. My 3D printer should be arriving shortly and I've been thinking the Windows 7 automatic restart could cause problems if it happens mid print.

Does the onboard electronics take care of the printing if you've chosen to print from SD, and it simply stops reporting back to the laptop?

If you are printing from SD card then you can remove the USB cable and then the PC can no longer have any effect on your 3D printer (unless you are powering something from the +5V from the USB which would be a bad design for something that has an SD card especially if you also have an LCD attached).

Turn all Power setting to never!
Turn Window update to: Never check for updates!
Just do the updates manually when it is convenient.
Hope this helps,
Werner
