... for some other CNC-applications I'm using Marlin and Marlin4Due without extruders too - simply put a jumper with a resistor (I've used 1k2) on the thermistor pins to 'fake' a temp reading

Thanks for hint. I use Repetier, and, like your solution "fake", I tried several resistors, and with one of the value 16k the system run perfectly. Thank you so much!
