i dont know ... it is not built by me ... I only read the zdnet article and posted it here ...

It is not 100 USD. The BOM does not include the build table, which is especially important for this printer for two reasons - one, that is how you add layers, the table moves down. Two - the table has to move even during the layer because the print head moves up and down as it changes position.

So it is misleading to use the $100 in the title of the article.

as I said before, the printer is not built by me ... I was not able to build a robust printer for less than 300 euros.

A cheap Z axis could be built based on the cable drive Z from Tantillus, perhaps substituting a DC motor with optical encoder and gearing. Z doesn't have to be fast, and the gearing combined with servo control could keep the platform still. Alternatively this might finally be an application for those cheap printer pulls people keep trying to find a use for.
