Launch of GetMakers, new platform dedicated to 3D modelling and 3D printing passionates

Posted by GetMakers
Hello dear RepRap users!

We received a great welcome on the #reprap-fr channel and the french RepRap forum: they helped us to create and improve www.getmakers.com, a new platform which connects the 3D modelling and 3D printing demand with makers.

Now we just launched our website, it is totally free (without commission) and we would need feedbacks from the maker community smiling smiley.

On GetMakers.com, for now :
- You can get makers to help you model or print your ideas,
- Or you can register as a maker to improve your skills, share your passion and earn money by helping people.

We would love to hear from you and improve the platform to make it fit your needs.

I attached a picture of a vase to this message, what do you think of it ? It has been imagined and printed in 3D on www.getmakers.com by two users smiling smiley.

Thanks a lot for your help,

Bruno

sorry, but your site just links files from thingiverse.
Hi f3rDz,

Thank you for your reply.

GetMakers connects people together : if you want to create something, you can find a maker to help you in modelling or 3D printing. However, if you're just curious about 3D printing and want to discover it, we created a page of inspiration with objects from thingiverse, is that the one you're talking about ? Its purpose is to help you find new ideas for your next print or project. smiling smiley

How GetMakers works : you post a project and a budget, you receive offers from makers who want to do it and then, when you accept an offer, you'll be able to contact your maker directly.

If you have any questions please let me know smiling smiley

I feel like there is to much going on here to be successful.

Its a lot of work to find the printer, then edit your item, then print it. That could take days or weeks.
Hi 3Dpinpoint,

You don't have to find a printer : you post a project (a .stl file you want to print for exemple) and see if you receive offers.
Makers who want to earn money and share their skills will see your project and send you an offer, with a price and period.

In one week, 7 projects have been done, it's quite fast and simple. smiling smiley
