it got me from knowing next to nothing, to having a moving 3d printer in about 3 weeks, so i can definitely vouch for it!

It depends what you want, the cheapest kits are on Ebay but the extruders and hot ends are sometimes crap. Do a lot of reading here in the forum into what people like and then make a choice. Then find a kit at a good price. Once you have a kit in mind then you can ask the forum or search the forum about it. I think that the threaded rod (prusa) versions are probably the cheapest because threaded rod is so cheap. Do some homework first and you will be happier than me. I bought the cheapest kit i could find and have so far spent several months trying to overcome bad extrusion issues. I think $500 - $600 (US$) is a good cheap price if you can find it for that.
