Heatbed Issue!

Hey,

I have recently bought a MK2B heatbed for my RepRap.

however, only 2/3's of the bed seems to be getting hot.

Any idea's?

Thanks

*EDIT: Also it takes much longer than expected to heat up*

Broken trace under the board?

Not being funny, but is there a way of finding out if there is?

Depending on the cut pattern they went with, you ought to put a ohm tester on both ends. You can visually look at the board and trace the pattern until you see a break. The trace is on the bottom of the board. If you have everything bolted together you'll need to take everything apart. Do you have your thermistor mounted in the center of the board? Do you have something to spread the heat evenly across the top such as an aluminum plate or glass?

you solder 2 and 3 tag together?

Oh dear! Noob alert!

I checked the tracks under the bed and noticed that I need to solder pins 2 and 3 together for Gnd. I didn't do this, so that will explain why the bottom 3rd wasn't heating up. It wasn't grounded!!

It is now heating up in a decent time now, so all is good!

Thanks for pointing the tracks out, if not I may still be wondering why it wasn't working!

Thanks again, Alex
