Guys, I was wondering what the coolest projects are that you are aware of within the RepRap Community. We are aware of the project by Hans Fouche (http://3dprint.com/2951/giant-3d-printer/), and the home building reprap by Andrey Rudenko (http://3dprint.com/2471/3d-printed-home-in-minnesota/). Do any of you know of any other interesting projects like these that have perhaps gone under the radar? I'd love to hear about them.

"at speeds which are leaps and bounds ahead of other FDM printers."
Sorry, but his speeds are nothing new. He's just chosen to take the route of speed over quality. "Makerbot style" printers are focused almost primarily on quality, speed coming strong second, but not at sacrifice to quality. Those, in the article, are massive layer heights, a simple way to print quickly. His frame isn't sturdy though, the prints are not only low quality in appearance, but they don't even appear straight. I question whether that frame is actually even usable. I'm not usually pessimistic, but I'm also tired of things like this that are touted as leaps and bounds ahead or innovative. It's just an uncommonly used concept.
I have watched the project of the cement printer here on the forums, however, and while it may not be leaps and bounds, it is without a doubt ahead of most of the game.

That is damn clever. This is the first reasonable way of coloring a print while it is being created that I have seen.
