heatable printplate no firmware support
June 05, 2014 05:35AM
Hallo guys,
we bulit a reprap protos v2 with a heatable printplate, but our firmware doesn't support the plate, there's no power at the output. The thermistor isn't accepted, too.
We use a firmware form reprap with heatable printplate.
Please help us quickly.
Greetings the 3D Group.

Hallo Leute,
Bitte helft uns schnell.
Grüße die 3D Group

Which firmware are you using, and can you post your configuration?

Thats a customized Marlin firmware. Its set for RAMPS 1.4 electronics, check that this matches whats on your printer. The hot bed should be on the output marked D8. This output is powered from the 11A terminals while everything else runs from the 5A terminals, make sure both sets are supplied with 12V.

Hi Andrew,
we're using the RAMPS 1.4 and all ports match with your Description. We measured the power at the outputs but it's 0V. When the Extruder is heated at this output are 12V. When the printbed is heated there are 0V. Our Thermistor works but isn't recognized from the fw, the computer reports 5°C. We don't know what we have to change in the fw that the bed works. The rest of the printer works so we're printing a few things, but they buckle because of the missing heatbed.
I hope you can show us what to change.
Greetings 3D Group.

Hi everyone,
we solved the problem!!! smiling bouncing smiley
We looked at the images in the building guide and found a second wiring diagram.
At the Image v2 the thermistor of the bed is conected to T2 .
At the image v1 it is conected to T1 but that's hardly to recognize.
How ever we solved the problem so everything is fine.
