Prusa i3 problems

Hello all,

I have a prusa i3 and I am up to the electronics stage (at the end). I am having some problems. I am using a arduino mega w/ RAMPS 1.4

1. Extruder 0 motor is not working. The motor works, I have checked, the driver works, a A4988 pololu driver, but, no go.
2. The heated bed thermsistor. I have no idea as to why this doesnt work! I plugged the thermsistor in to the T0 port for extruder 1 and it reads fine. Back into T0, dead again.

What firmware are you using?

1.If you have setup your firmware, your extruder motor will not work while the hotend is cold, to avoid problems
'm302' will allow cold extrusion {Source- [reprap.org] }

2.have you set the right thermistor in the firmware?
-if its 100k or 200k you should specify... and the polarity on the ramps doesnt matter
