True, but a toe in the water at a price that a lot more people will be comfortable with. The big question is how well it works. DD's concerns notwithstanding, from what I can see of the design and given the modest dimensions it may well be serviceable. I'm sure someone here will buy one just for the cuteness value, and I look forward to hearing what they think of it smiling smiley

I wouldn't be surprised if this actually produces pretty nice prints. Being so small, the structure is inherently much stiffer than if they had tried doing a 150x150 print area. And all the moving parts have lower mass, which bodes well too. Of course, there are lots of ways to mess up a printer design, but if they have their heads screwed on straight, it could be quite a nice little printer.

Lol the video was prett cheesey. Shows a guy sitting on the grass by a lake with the printer and laptop and no o vious power source... Derp. Marketing is fun.

The printer looks nice for what it is.

I like the bronce bushings. They make perfect sense on a small(er) printer.
I don´t like the long PTFE tube and the lack of a heated bed.

Wonder, what steppers they use?
I´ll visit HK later, haven´t been there for a long time, ´cause they always censored my product comments.

Where do they find these marketing people from? Drives me up the wall. I guess without a heated bed you could get a small print out of a 12v battery, but who is likely to do that in practice?

At that small size, maybe an acrylic frame is rigid enough to work. Being able to lay down some plastic is one thing. Doing it without an hour of messing around every time you try to print is another. We'll see when someone gets one...

Yes, and making it basically cubic was probably a good choice. As always with acrylic, the way the pieces are held together is likely to be a concern, but if it's a problem I guess you could always make the commitment and glue the thing together. The linear rods look very skinny which is a particular worry for the cantilevered gantry, but then they are also short so maybe it works out. As you say, we'll see!
