Looking for an affordable 24v PSU

So, this is probably a recurring topic. I'm converting a machine to new hardware and am doubtful the original PSU will be sufficient.

My eye has fallen on this model:

This is a slimline model, handy because it will fit under the machine. However, are there maybe even cheaper options for a good 24v PSU? I tried finding some server PSU's but they basically all end up being either 12v or some obscure high voltage.

How much current do you need?

The MeanWell LRS series are fanless, have multiple certifications, and lots of built in self-protection. I used LRS-200-24 for about 8A out. I've put them into 3 printers and my sand table and never had a failure.

Is 8Amp (I assume 200W) enough for a 24v 3D-printer? In that case the brick I have might work.. thumbs up

Are you trying to run the bed heater from it? If not, then 200W is probably enough.

How big is the printer and what are you trying to power?

It's a Makerbot Replicator 2x with the original psu. It ran fine before but I changed the drivers to tmc2209 and the controller board. In theory it should use the same, but I like to have some leftovers.
