Build for Nylon and PC

I have built a Carteasian printer with a falling bed. It's nothing revolutionary or novel and it works well but it’s a big brute, I overdid it. 600x460x460mm frame.

I have been trying to setup an old but modified CTC Dual (Mks Gen L, JHead) to print Nylon and PC however it’s not going very well, the old dear is really past its sell by date.

So I’m thinking of building another smaller printer with a print volume about 200x200x200, possibly a little less or a little more to print the higher temperature filaments.

I realise that it will need either a good enclosure or an enclosed chamber so that has to factor into the build.

I have to hand :-
  • 3030 T slot
  • BTT Mini E3V2
  • BTT TFT32
  • Power supplies
  • Steppers 0.9 deg
  • Mechanical endstop switches
  • Extruder + jHead
  • A quantity of 8mm chromed smooth rod and bearings

I’d need a heated bed, some more rod and something to enclose the printer.

A few questions.
  • Are there any builds you would recommend whilst keeping the price low to sensible?
  • As I would be feeding the moisture sensitive filament from a dryer box via a ptfe tube is it better to use Bowden or Direct drive?
  • How can temperature be controlled in a chamber without introducing drafts?

Thanks aamcle

From what I have read print speeds are low 20 to 50mmsec
for PC or Nylon so a simple design like my old CTC would be sufficient.
