Cost of DVD or CD laser diode???

Does anyone know how much these diodes cost in quantity? Like what the manufacturers pay.

It can't be more than a couple bucks for the diode when the whole drives sell for $24: [www.amazon.com]

But I can't find anywhere that sells them for anything near that.

... at ebay single 100mW-BluRay-diodes are sold for around 5 Euros (600mW ~ 50Euros) and the drivers for around 15 Euros.

Complete drives can be found for 40 Euros and more.

'Normal' DVD-writers with IR/Red-diodes are much cheaper as they're outdated

And in specific laser-forums i'm buying 200mW-BluRay for 10 Euros and 1W-445nm-diodes for 30 Euros in single quantities.

I think the prices for vendors are in the range of some ten cents to some Dollars for this types of laserdiodes ...
