Can anyone explain what that new "5D-firmware" does?
I find it referenced all over the place but neither
the wiki not the blog explains what is ment by 5D.

Surely it's not a reprap with 2 additional axes of movement.

The 4th dimension is extrudate length [blog.reprap.org], I can't remember what the 5th is. Time possibly?

I think you're right -- the 5th may be the extruder head travel speed.
