Motherboard Testing
March 18, 2010 03:20PM
Hello All,

I am building a Mendel with Gen.3 electronics. Recently I finished installing the microcontroller firmware as instructed on this page. Then I took to testing it as per this page. It says set CommDebug to true but when I open the window it is already set to true.Having done that I only get one line (i.e. the first line) from the expected result and the numbers are slightly off as well:

comms: G-code: M105 dequeued and sent [0.002s/-1259516051264ms]
comms: GCodeWriter.waitForOK() - temperature reading: T:0 [0.017s/15ms]
comms: GCode acknowledged with message: ok EB [0.017s/0ms]
comms: G-code: M105 dequeued and sent [1.519s/1502ms]
comms: GCodeWriter.waitForOK() - temperature reading: T:0 [1.537s/18ms]
comms: GCode acknowledged with message: ok EB [1.537s/0ms]

Also, it does not scroll continuously!

What could be the reason for this?

P.S. I uploaded the configuration.h file

P.P.S. I am using the Makerbot version!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi

Have you tried communicating with the motherboard using basic terminal software?

Are you using Windows or Linux?

Ive experienced this problem, it seems as the software craps all over and hangs, same happened for me if i dared to press the reset switch on any board.

After lots of trail and error ive discovered that this is due to "poor" comport detection that would suggest that the problem is related to the comport drivers for windows and the initialization of the software.

Shutdown your software unplug / replug usb and try loading software again.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies. Actually I think the problem was with the jumper.Once I removed it everything went fine. But I do appreciate the responses.

Thanks again,
