Stepper controller components

Hi All,

I'm just found this project some weeks ago and i'm slowly collecting the bits and pieces needed to build a RepStrap. While i have some programming experience with PIC processors i go for the 2gen electronics and received the pcb's.
I'm not a electronics guy and got two simple questions about the Stepper driver for somebody who is (i try to source the components in NL)

1. can i use BYW98/200 3A diodes instead of the diodes (5404 or SB360) mentioned
2. i have 0.47 Ohm 2 watt resistors (5%) are they good enough for the driver?

Thanks in advance
Flos

Hardware : you can find bearings 608ZZ ABEC 3 at the Decathlon shops, 8 pieces for 5 euro's

Hi,

The resistors will be fine the trim pot adjustment makes the exact accuracy of these less important.

The BYW98/200 3A diodes look fine as well. The important requirements are;
- min voltage range -13.5V -> 13.5V (max currently used), -60V -> 60V (L298 max)
- min current rating 2A (L298 max)
- max Time to Recover from Reverse voltage (Trr) 200 ns (L297)

For the BYW98/200 the values are; 200V, 3A, 35ns, all of which are better than the requirements.

Thanks in advance,
Pete
