I am currently working on a Reprap which has a 3/8'' barrel and dome nut nozzel. I want to modify the barrel to include the thermistor so I can more easily chnage nozzles.

I am just wondering why have you changed from a 3/8'' to an M6 barrel and nozle design?

The official design has always been in metric units and the barrel has always been M6 but imperial sizes are easier to source in the US.
