Z axis problem, strange sound

I am almost there but am having a strange problem that I can not find a solution to.

Mendel
RAMBO board
Marlin firmwear
Pronterfaece + Slicer

All of the end stops work and the X,Y & Z have all been calibrated the bot so that the steps are accurate.

When I slice a print and send it to build it goes to the endstops, holds for a bit and then attempts to move, then starts to make a rapid fire, high pitch sound from the "Z" steppers and I have to unplug the power and reset. It is strange because when I move in the pronterface interface it all works just fine. Smooth as silk.

Your Z max feedrate might be too high. Try to lower it in Marlin and see what happens.

When I manually control the motors in pronterface they work fine. It is when I send a print that this problem occurs. It is freezing and making a bunch of noise.

I will upload the gcode as soon as I can.

Well, the feedrates are different in pronterface and while printing (probably). Also you can try to increase motor current. If the steps/mm vs feedrate is too much for your system, a simple change of stepping and steps/mm will help.
