Reprap Discount LCD Display for Sprinter ?

Good evening,
I managed to get my printer run today calibrated everything and I am quite happy now.

I am running Ramps 1.4 and the Sprinter Firmware.
I also bought an LCD Display from ReprapDiscount



Now I want to get it running.
But on the Official site, they get them running on the Marlin firmware.
So now my question:

Can I use the same code that is provided on the website for the Marlin Firmware for the sprinter firmware to implemate the LCD ?

Or should I change to the Marlin firmware ?

I've never used Sprinter, but reading the different sites have led me to believe that Marlin is a more-advanced firmware. I have been using Marlin for over a year now with the RepRap Discount SmartLCD, and it works great.
