i3 - Temperature won't stop rising (350deg)

Hi!

I have started to build a new printer; i3 based on a twelvepro wooden frame and EINSTEIN Variant.

Taurino Board, Ramps 1.4 and reprapdiscount graphical LCD.

Got it together, put together a firmware.
Everything moves, looks about right. Started the heaters.... Got hot..

LCD panel - I went to preheat PLA.
Temp rises - 100 > 150 > 180 > 200 > 250 > 300[[/u]/b]... Crap! Power off. confused smiley
The Kaptop tape around nozzle even starts to smoke.

Can someone help with why it is not slowing/stopping temp at 180?

I've had an i2 previously - Was a great machine, now with a new owner, so it was time to rebuild a new machine spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

.....also, dual extrudes (j-head) and one hit 350 super fast and one was "stalling" at 110deg.....
The 110 was just rising very so in comparison.

Ext 1@ 110
Ext2@ 350

Would like to move this to a more general forum. Sorry!

I would bet that the heater is not wired right. Check for a short in the "ground" side wire on the heater. Having the heaters cross wired is another very common goof (the wire you *thought* went to the heated bed really goes to the hot end heater...)

Check that the thermistor is connected to the correct thermistor input for the heated bed. I had a simillar problem and my hot end never shut off as the thermistor was trying to turn off the other hot-end connection.
