okay, i got my olimex programmer and i've compiled picp. how do i
flash the PIC chip? i cant get gpicp to compile, so i guess i'm doing
this from the command line. theres nothing in the wiki about this.

i dont need a technical explanation... just tell me what command to
type at the shell. =)

Dunno, but if picp doesn't go for you try pikdev. I use that one, so I
can tell you how smiling smiley It's in Ubuntu.

I run "pikdev" and then go into Configure/Programmer. I dunno exactly
what you've got, but it's all clicky interface stuff - I don't recall
having to change anything at all other than my serial port at the time.
I presume your olimex is a standard serial JDM? If so, plug into a real
serial port not a USB one. I've attached my config screen.

Next, click on the chip icon (second row of icons, right-hand side).
File/Open to get your hex file in, then click on the chip with an arrow
pointing into it. Tada.
