Hi, I have Reprap Keypad PCB from reprapworld. Made a mistake ordering shift register and rotary encoder.
I have the SN74HCT125N, it has has 7 pins, not 8, is it or any any SN74HC model with 8 pins compatible?
What is good starting point to learn differences in models of shift register: SN vs CD, HC(T), what each pin does for the shifting/counting (as I understand what happens when each button is pressed).
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I USE AN 8 PIN (SN)74HC SHIFT REGISTER???
