In that link it appears they have cracked end user ability. I think I will purchase their boards and give them a go. The more open sourcing that is done will only refine closed loop operation for stand alone 3D printing. I really like the idea of including extruders and all the axis and I hope that developers keep in mind some people operate 2 z and y axis motors so that those folks can either slave or run independently with multi extruders. Maxon makes dc encoder Motors I think would work fantastic. I can also see the need for higher wattage nozzle heaters to help compensate for speed and in potentially preheating filament so it can print as fast as the axis motions.

Closed loop is serious business, so the developers have to ignore this absurd requirement.
